Fight Club was originally a satirical novel written by Chuck Palahniuk in 1996. The story follows the unnamed protagonist, who suffers from insomnia. His journey is based on the fact that even though he's in an abnormal state of mind, he has to keep working at this tediously normal job as an office worker. The climax of the story is stablished with the appearance of Tyler Durden and how he helps our protagonist to get out of his mental state by some radical psychotherapy: The Fight Club.

The Movie
For the ones who want to fight recreationally. The movie takes us to a place where we meet the person we've always wanted to be, but never had the actual guts to become. Thanks to Pitt's character, Tyler Durden, we realize how our emotions, if in control, would take place in the real world.
The Narrator in many ways is us, a typical human, doing typical human things, stuck in the day to day routine, and looking for an easy way out, a Fight Club.
This film shows us how the human being is such a selfish and narcissistic creature, how we believe our problems are bigger than the ones suffered by our friends or workmates. A good example would be Marla Singer, who cares little to nothing about the support group members, she shares time with; or The Narrator himself, who notices how little of a problem he has compared to testicular cancer.
A movie to watch, a film to think about, and to relate to.
And remember, you are not a beautiful and unique snowflake, you are the same decaying organic matter as everyone else, and we are all part of the same compost pile...
